Woodland Cemetery
Nestled in the pine forests south of Stockholm, the Woodland Cemetery (Skogskyrkogården) is a masterclass in the quiet power of architecture and landscape working in harmony. Designed by Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz and completed in 1940, the siteplan is an immersive experience in spatial composition, light, and shadow. Multiple photoshoots have focused on symmetry, asymmetry, proportion and depth of field.
