Andrew van Leeuwen is an architectural photographer based between Sweden and the Pacific Northwest.

He holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation, and a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences and a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University. His studies included time in Denmark and Germany, fostering an early engagement with Nordic and Central European design culture.

His work spans Scandinavia and the United States, and his architectural experience informs a rigorous and design-forward approach to documenting the built environment.

He also conducts an interview series for BUILD Online Magazine, engaging leading voices in architecture and design on circularity, regenerative practice, and the future of the built environment.
